Lot 3111
1936 5-piece Proof Set. A Gem quality Proof Set in an old white Capital plastic holder. The nickel has lovely toning while the elusive cent is fully Red. When the sale of Proofs resumed in 1936 the brilliant style was restored, but without the frosted relief that had made earlier Proofs (pre-1916 issues) so stunning. 1936 is the most elusive year in the pre-World War II group, and high on the list of Must Have dates in Gem quality like this!
Estimated Value $6,000 - 7,000.
The Coltrin Family Collection.
